Health Care
TTG was founded in response to requests from leaders in the healthcare industry who were concerned about the lack of awareness and preparation regarding the many threats that face their organizations today. We are pleased to provide a full complement of emergency management solutions to identify and reduce risk, as well as provide professional instruction on emergency management topics.
Emergency Management Standards
In January 2001, the Joint Commission’s disaster preparedness standards were modified to introduce emergency management concepts and community involvement in the management process. These modifications call for accredited organizations to take an “all hazards” approach to disaster planning- reviewing, analyzing, and addressing all hazards determined to be credible and severe threats to the community. These standards represent a significant evolution in the concept of managing emergencies. Specific standards requirements vary among the Joint Commission’s accreditation programs.
A combination of systematic threat assessment and operational exercises to test readiness is the most reasonable set of techniques to increase preparedness and “harden” a hospital and its capabilities to respond to mass casualty events. This process meets and/or exceeds Joint Commission standards (EC.1, 4 and EC. 2.9.1) and integrates with environment of care requirements.
